Enjoy a full view of  the city from the Santa Lucia Hill, the place where Pedro de Valdivia decided to found the city of Santiago in 1541.

The Plaza de Armas (Main Square), the heart of the city, is surrounded by the government buildings of the fine architecture such as La Municipalidad (The City Hall building), El Correo (The Post Office building), El Museo Historico Nacional (The National History Museum), and the Catedral de Santiago (Santiago Cathedral), built in 1556 and re-built several times due to earthquakes, its presents building dates back to 1748. The Palacio de Gobierno “La Moneda” (Government Palace) nowadays restored from the bombing in 1973 is preceded by the Plaza de la Constitucion (The Constitution Square).

Others buildings of interest surrounding the Moneda are: The Intendance Building, the Building the General Comptroller of the Republic and the Ministry of Economy.

We will finish our tour in a handicraft store where we will appreciate Lapizlazuli pieces, a special blue stone that only you can find in Chile and Afganistan.
